Speaking of the Dead

We were talking about zombies in class today and how they exist mostly in movies. That reminded me of a preview I saw for a television show that is about to come out on AMC titled "The Walking Dead". Some of you may have already seen this trailer, but for those of you who have not, please enjoy.

Also, we were talking about how zombie movies these days are mostly a parody, not really intended to be creepy. However, I found this trailer to be a throw back to the olden days and over all pretty chilling. Let me know what you think.

I saw that trailer a while back and was really intrigued, but I had totally forgotten about it. It seems like a really interesting idea to turn it into a show, I'm just curious as to how they will make it last multiple seasons without getting really repetitive.

So apparently it's based on a comic book series that's been going for seven years, so I guess they won't have too much trouble keeping plots going for the show for a while.

Saw the trailer over the summer, and am excited about it. AMC puts out several great series, so hopefully AMC can bring back the creepiness to zombies.

The beginning is a little too much like 28 Days Later for me (I'm pretty sure 28 Days Later came first), but that won't stop me from watching this show. Just the trailer makes me want to go get a copy of the comic.

Oh, and on a semi-related note, if anyone is interested in a book on zombies then I highly recommend World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks. One of my favorites, and certainly my favorite book focusing on zombies.

I agree with John. World War Z is a great book.
